Reena Halprin
Founder & CEO
Reena is the founder & CEO of Enlightened Mitigation, LLC. She is a Mitigation Specialist based out of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. She has been working in the social work field and in advocacy-oriented positions for the past 20 years. Since 2017, she has worked as a mitigation specialist and developed a successful track record in obtaining lenient and compassionate sentences for clients convicted of violent and non-violent crimes on the federal, state, and county level. Her ability to connect with and build a trusting rapport with clients is unmatched. Her mitigation reports and videos have helped to move the needle in the most challenging of cases.
Bernadette Longino-Hasson
Videographer
Bernadette has been working in video production and post-production since 2005. She began her career producing nonfiction television for cable networks like A&E, truTV, and fyi. Since 2015, Bernadette has been independently filming and editing compelling content for corporate and non-profit clients. Bernadette has come to consider her involvement with mitigation videos among the most important and interesting work she's ever done.
Elizabeth Sullivan
Mitigation Specialist
Elizabeth is a graduate of Haverford College and has worked in the mental health and social service settings. These include an Americorps-affiliated nonprofit which served low-income and unhoused individuals and families of Chicago. She has previously worked as a community organizer and policy advocate for healthcare and other social justice issues.
Elizabeth is passionate about assisting clients who are facing enormous life challenges. She approaches her client work as a collaboration, navigating the mitigation process with compassion, respect, and integrity. She believes that cultivating patience and trust is integral to creating a path forward for growth and healing.
Her mitigation reports have led to excellent legal client outcomes. Attorneys and forensic experts appreciate her attention to detail, analytical reasoning, thorough research, and persuasive writing. Her clients have shared how grateful they were for her support and how she helped them to find strength in some of their most difficult moments.
David Shrank
Consultant on Sentencing Advocacy
David Shrank MSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, founder and CEO of Empowerment Behavioral Therapeutic Services, is a licensed therapist, social worker, and Chair of The National Trauma Education and Policy Board while also serving on various other boards. David is an expert in all types of “Trauma” including bullying, veterans, gangs, addiction, and sexual assault, and provides counseling and training to children, adults, families, and professionals. David is also a gang violence expert and has worked with the youth of Philadelphia, PA, and Trenton, NJ as well as the adults and correctional population of Trenton, NJ Baltimore, MD, and Washington D.C. He has been teaching martial arts since 2003 and has been an instructor at various martial arts academies. David has provided security to multiple establishments and organizations. David founded Greater Trenton Behavioral Healthcare’s self-defense program and trained all staff at the agency.
